What's Osama Bin Watchin'?

Back on the topic of Osama Bin Laden, when the navy seals neutralized Osama, they caught a picture of him watching a very small TV. Some guy took that photo and allowed you to input any YouTube video you want onto the screen of the small TV. It's pure gold. The link is below.

Obama 2016!

Well it seems that Obama has clenched his 2012 election already with the death of Osama Bin Laden. I know it's not official, and there is still hope for republicans. But let's face it...Obama got the guy republicans had the chance to get. And what's with Osama living in a million dollar compound? Really Pakistan? You're going to pretend you didn't know he was there?? 6 years of chilling in the suburbs and you're going to look the other way. If I had any say I would stop funding Pakistan. Stop this war in general, we got the bad guy. If a new guy wants to step up and try something then he can face the same fate.  One man's death cannot make up for the many live he's taken, but I think it was enough to comfort the families a little bit.

Dependent America

Well gas has gone over $4.00 a gallon and the world's oil supply isn't going to increase anytime soon. What does it take to get this country to see the light (and not the one from the oil lamp.) There are many alternatives to fossil fuels. Rivers could be lined with tidal mills. I imagine the great plains would be a good place for wind mills seeing how its all flat. Not to mention solar panels down south. I know our relationship with oil goes further than just us needing it, but we have to start changing now or we're going to be in a scramble to compensate our dependency.

Up for the challenge?

Due to recent maintenance on the blogger, instead of my posts being in minutes, it turned into hours. Anyway. A big thing is happening in CNY and we all get to be apart of it! The I-81 challenge is going on and its a pretty interesting process. Here's whats going on.

Interstate 81 through downtown Syracuse is pretty much getting old and doesn't meet today's standards of a highway.  So, the I-81 challenge gives the community a chance to input ideas and talk about future options for designs. The options are then narrowed down and one is eventually picked over a span of 6-8 years.

So how does the community give input? Through workshops! You can either attend the workshops physically (the first set already passed) or virtually on the internet. I personally did the virtual one, which gives you a little history lesson about I-81 and how the city has transformed and grew around our transportation system. You can do the workshop online HERE. I don't think many people have utilized this opportunity to have an impact on our cities future,  but I'm sure for those of us who are interested, we can come up with some brilliant ideas.

NEXT!

I'm seeing everyone walk around with the new iPad and I thought..."hey, I would love to have one of these, but where am I going to get $800?" Where do kids in college get the money to buy this stuff. I work a part time job, but not enough to buy an iPad. My girlfriends  (Spaghetti Warehouse) work just got an iPad too. Apparently, there's an app for hostesses. They use it to text you when your table is ready...........Really America?

We can't even approach people across the room to tell their table is ready now?! If there was a 2 hour wait and You went shopping down the street or something that is one thing, but come on. I guess it's a hit or miss with the apps. Maybe I'm just showing some jealousy, but some things you can do with the iPad just seem pointless. And by pointless I mean I really want one right now.

It's been a while

So it's been over a month since I last posted I believe, so in order to hopefully get credit for these and to cover the vast amount of stuff that happened, I will be posting a series of posts in the next few minutes. Ready? Set. Go!

First. What is up with this Destiny USA project? It shows what marketing can really do to the average human mind. I remember back in 2000 I think when it was first proposed (don't quote me on that) and there were pictures of this glorious vast wonderland filled with neat people and things that Syracuse could only dream of having. A huge golf dome and an aquarium were a couple of the proposed features but what did we get? We got a giant grey block prison with nothing inside of it. We have a man getting tax cuts and stalling the completion of this project because he can't pay the contractors. He is working the system, everyone can see it, but nobody can do anything about it. It's nearly sickening. So how does this tie in to class? I could try and find a way to say a true entrepreneur wouldn't do this to his own community, but I guess I'm really posting this because it pisses me of.

On to the next post!
